Delivery timing

How often the box ships, and how to slow it down

Updated

The dog subscription box delivery schedule is monthly. Our subscription policy lists timing changes a customer may request, and we quote that list, and the policy's two sentences on the minimum, word for word below. Everything else, from price to ending a subscription, stays on the terms page.

How often does the box ship?

Monthly. The Modified Monthly box is a monthly subscription, billing is every month, and a new theme and lineup come with it. That is the schedule you start on, and it is the one this page assumes unless a change has been made.

Everything about price, the first box, renewal and how to end a subscription lives in the full subscription terms, linked under the start button further down this page. We keep those details there so this page cannot drift away from them, and we will not retell them here.

What this page covers is narrower: the everyday rhythm of the box, and the timing changes the policy names. A schedule that matches the way your dog actually works through treats is a better fit than one you have to keep apologizing to.

If you are new to the box, the rhythm is simple. A new box comes monthly with a new theme and lineup, you open one bag at a time, and the rest wait their turn. If that rhythm leaves sealed bags piling up in the cupboard, the policy's list below is the place to look.

What timing changes does the subscription policy allow?

We would rather quote than summarize, because the wording matters. Our subscription policy page says: "Customers may request changes to shipment frequency, including, but not limited to:" Source: sniffandshift.com, checked 2026-10-17

That is the policy's list as written, and we have added nothing to it. For anything beyond the list, the policy and the terms page are the places to read, and if something is unclear, ask us before you order.

Does a slower schedule change the minimum?

The policy answers this one directly. Our subscription policy page says: "However, any such modification affects only shipment timing and does not reduce, eliminate, or satisfy the three-shipment minimum commitment requirement." Source: sniffandshift.com, checked 2026-10-17

It goes on: "Accordingly, if a customer changes shipment frequency or skips shipments, the commitment period may extend beyond ninety (90) days." Source: sniffandshift.com, checked 2026-10-17

We are leaving those two sentences exactly as the policy has them. Read them together with the terms page before you ask for a change. They are the policy's words about timing, and adding our own gloss would only risk changing what they mean.

When does a slower schedule suit a dog?

When the bags are not getting used up. A small dog who takes a few treats at a time can leave bags sealed in the cupboard when the next box comes, and that is a household reason to look at timing. The page on a subscription box for small dogs covers piece size and pacing.

Another reason is a dog who gets one treat on the evening walk and little else. The bags in a month's box then outlast the month, and the next box arrives on top of them. That is a pacing question, and nothing about it is urgent.

It also helps to open one bag at a time. The dog treat shelf life page in our guides explains why: an opened bag has its own 30 day window, so a pile of open bags runs several clocks at once. Treats from the box are for intermittent or supplemental feeding, not a dog's main meals.

Think of it like a service interval. You change the oil on the schedule the car actually needs, not on the one printed on a sticker. The same reasoning applies to a dog's treat shelf.

Questions

Can I get the box on a slower schedule?

The policy lists "Converting to a 45-day shipment schedule" among the changes a customer may request Source: sniffandshift.com, checked 2026-10-17. We cannot promise how a request will be handled here. Read the policy and the terms, then contact us with what you have in mind.

Where do I ask for a timing change?

In answer to where to go, our subscription policy page says customers "may manage their subscriptions through the customer portal link provided in order confirmation emails or by contacting Sniff & Shift customer support." Source: sniffandshift.com, checked 2026-10-17

Can I go back to monthly later?

Our subscription policy page says: "Changes to product selections, shipping schedules, delivery frequencies, payment methods, and shipping addresses may be made at any time unless restricted by a specific promotional offer, minimum-purchase commitment, or discounted subscription program." Source: sniffandshift.com, checked 2026-10-17 We promise nothing beyond that sentence.

Does a slower schedule change the proteins my dog skips?

No. The skip list is separate from timing. We can honor every protein you name, the Greek yogurt and cheddar treats among them, and the skips go in the order notes or on the website. A change to the schedule leaves that list alone.

Does each dog's box need the same schedule?

Each pet has its own box, and two dogs under one roof get matching lineups. We do not promise separate schedules for separate boxes. If you want timing to differ between boxes, contact us about each one and we will tell you what is possible.
